ahhh, The Ritz.  A name associated with style, class and high living.  As in the Ritz Carlton Hotel empire.  High end, 5 star service and living.  Nothing but the best for well heeled, upscale socialites.  Except apparently in Shortsville. Yes, there’s a Ritz in our little Ontario County burb.  But, no, they have not built a high end hotel off route 96.  This Ritz is a trailer park where a little family argument turned into a neighborhood scuffle Monday night.  According to a report filed by the Ontario Co. Sheriffs Office, Thomas Roy, 28, was having a verbal argument with his mother at the park at 4345 Shortsville Rd. around 6pm Monday night.  Phllip J. Morello, 26, a neighbor, apparently wasn’t pleased by this disagreement and intervened.  Not by trying to quell the argument by calmly talking it all out.  No, Mr. Morello has a different way of ending things.  He is accused of walking up to Mr. Roy and head butting him, causing a facial injury to the battling son.  Thank God dear old mom didn’t get the butt of Mr. Morello’s actions.  But the fun wasn’t done yet.  Another neighbor heard the commotion in the trailer park and entered the scene.  That’s when Mr. Phillip Morello decided it was wrong for some other neighbor to get involved, so he punched the 27-year-old in the face!  Luckily this guy can take a punch and did not get hurt.  Needless to say, my man Sheriff Povero’s boys had to get involved as well. So, Mr. Morello is now charged with 3rd-degree assault, a misdemeanor and 2nd-degree harassment, a mere violation.  Mama Roy, her son Tommy boy and the mystery neighbor were not charged.  Ahhhhh life in The Ritz……ain’t it grand?

Really, that is a true story.  You can’t make this kind of great stuff up.  Why would somebody get involved in another families business? Got me.  The only families that I worry about are my own and my friends.  And those of our heroes in the military.  God bless those families and God bless our troops!
